Downtown

It’s all happening in Downtown Forney, starting with our own Ball Drop at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Other events include the Brews on Bois D’Arc craft beer festival featuring North Texas breweries and Festival on Main’s day-long celebration of food, fun, music, and the arts each spring.

Around Town

Adding to the livability of Forney, there are several parks located throughout the area, each with its own personality and amenities, from charming, intimate mini parks to family- and sports-centric neighborhood spaces for outdoor activities, picnics, and special events. Plus, the city holds two large parcels of undeveloped parkland for future growth. For water enthusiasts, Lake Ray Hubbard is about 5 minutes away from Forney.  The John Bunker Sands Wetland Center is more wildlife oriented with tours available and is about 20 minutes away from Forney.

Forney Community Park is a primary gathering place for our city’s residents and visitors. It offers a wide range of events, from outdoor movies to a Christmas festival. The 170-acre park also features over 40 acres of and several miles of trails for hiking and biking, along with a family recreation area, a splash pad, a rentable event pavilion, softball and soccer fields, and basketball, sand volleyball, and tennis courts.

One of the main attractions of the park is the 5,000-seat Spellman Amphitheater for theatrical productions and local, regional, and national concerts, plus special events such as the Forney each holiday season.
