What We Can Do
We are here for one primary reason – to help you easily become a part of Forney, grow here, and thrive. The Forney Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) is a citizen volunteer group appointed by the City Council.
We are a not for profit (4B) Economic Development Corporation funded in part by a voter approved one half-cent dedicated sales tax.
The FEDC actively promotes Forney for business and commercial development, along with serving existing business and industry both large and small.
Since its inception in 1994, the FEDC has helped facilitate the attraction of over $650 million in capital investment and the creation of over 1,000 jobs.
Working Together
The FEDC also works closely with the Forney City Council on large projects, helping prospects achieve their plans on time as they work through both the incentives negotiation and development process. The FEDC has taken on an aggressive role in meeting the explosive demands for increased retail and service-sector businesses by working collaboratively with the private sector and City of Forney to attract high quality, sustainable commercial development.
The FEDC provides long-range guidance and encouragement to existing and expanding businesses which have been the strength of Forney for many years. Looked upon as the marketing arm of the city, the FEDC is ready and eager to assist business and industry in finding space for relocating and expanding in this area. The FEDC works with small and large business connecting them with the resources they need to help create a thriving local economy.
