Question: How do I find out about upcoming road expansions projects and their timelines?

The City of Forney and the Forney Economic Development Corporation often receive inquiries about road expansion. Most major roads such as Highway 80, FM 548, 1641, 740, 460, and more are not controlled by the City. These roads are owned by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT). Question: Where can I find the best place in Forney for my business?

Answer: The Forney EDC offers an interactive map of available properties on the Storymap here (scroll down to the "Forney, TX - EDC" Map and then make sure it is on the "Available Properties" tab) as well as showing Loopnet listings underneath. Answer: Forney EDC occasionally receives news of the month or exact date for the opening of a new business. However, there is no guarantee that a business will send us information in advance of the opening. Those interested in an upcoming opening are encouraged to check with the business or on social media.
