FORNEY, Texas — Over a decade from the first conversation, Kohl’s has finally opened its doors in Forney. The new store boasts a modern look that includes Sephora, and other brands you know and love.
The grand opening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the members of the Forney City Council, the Forney Chamber of Commerce, the Forney Economic Development Team, and Kohl’s staff. The store will have over 100 employees when fully staffed.
“This is a great day for Forney as Kohl’s opens its doors to the public. This new store will boost the Forney economy and allow residents to shop for brands they’d otherwise have to look for in other cities,” said Forney Mayor Jason Roberson.
“Kohl’s is also bringing many jobs to our community, perfect for our families as the holiday season draws near.”
Roberson said that the city is currently losing millions of dollars in retail leakage. Having Kohl’s open in Forney will allow those tax dollars to stay in the community.
“Now, we get to keep those tax dollars here in Forney,” said Mayor Roberson. “Those tax dollars help to keep everybody safe. More money for police and fire - that’s why we have to have strong partners like Kohl’s here.”
The Mayor also said he is excited to be able to shop for men’s clothes and for Sephora followers to be able to get the products they know and love right here in our community.
The new store is open 9 a.m. -9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. -8 p.m. on Sundays
