Forney EDC-SCORE collaboration gets started and aims to support small businesses

The City of Forney Economic Development Department and Forney Economic Development Corporation have launched a collaboration with SCORE to support businesses by providing mentoring, classes, and small business resources.

The Forney EDC-SCORE collaboration held a launch event at the FEDC Office and Business Center, 210 S. Bois d’Arc St., on Monday, January 27, 2025.

SCORE is a network of volunteers with a mission to support growth and flourishing in the small business community. The local SCORE will provide programming and initiatives through the FEDC, in coordination with its local partners.

SCORE works to give every person the support they need to thrive as a small business owner and helps strengthen our local economy as a catalyst for business and job creation. SCORE recognizes that small businesses power the economy through business formation, job creation, and wealth building and that small businesses need money and mentoring to be successful.

No organization is more effective at mentoring than SCORE. Business owners may search by ZIP code on a web portal and request a mentor. These volunteers bring years of experience in every facet of running a business.
