In honor of Labor Day, the Forney Economic Development Corporation will be closed on Monday, September 1.

September Business of the Month:

For the month of September, the Forney Economic Development Corporation spotlights the Forney Brewing Company. The brewery is one of the FEDC’s newest partners and opened at 203 E. Main Street on June 14, 2025.

The brewery celebrates Forney history with historical photos and décor. Owner Eric Britton, who has lived in Forney for eight years, describes the place as a “modern saloon,” an homage to the saloons that once stood nearby next to the railroad track in Forney.

A QR code on the wall sends visitors to the website of the Spellman Museum of Forney History, and above a piano, is a tribute to the bison that once roamed Texas.

“I love digging into history,” Britton said.

He recalled how someone saw a photo on the wall and pointed out that it included his grandfather.

“This is a place that people can be proud of,” he said.

Some of the most popular menu items include the smashburgers, the artisan pizzas, the house beer and the house margarita. A person with a YouTube channel (“Jo Will Eat”) came to review, Britton said, and asked for some additions, including bacon, to the chicken sandwich. So the brewery made that sandwich and then added it to the menu.
