The Forney Economic Development Corporation’s Business of the Month for December 2025 is the non-profit Sharing the Love Foundation. This youth empowerment organization started in Forney in 2012 and extends to Kaufman County, according to founder and Executive Director Marian Stewart. It usually has about 75 youth in its programs but sometimes has as many as 100. Hundreds of adult volunteers help out.

The youth will soon deliver gifts to seniors because of donations from local churches to an Angel Tree program. An average of 150 seniors receive gifts, according to Stewart. Sharing the Love Foundation recently provided its annual Sharing a Blessing luncheon to seniors, veterans and the Genesis Women’s Shelter, and Meals on Wheels helped deliver meals prepared at the luncheon.

The foundation works with youth in three age groups. There are Youth Can summer camps for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. The children from seventh and eighth grades begin to learn leadership as Junior Young Ambassadors. The Young Ambassadors in high school form the core of the leadership programming and work on a community service project.

Sharing the Love Foundation’s other work includes the Garden-to-Plate workshops and the Children’s Legacy Garden, in which all the planting and care is done by the youth, and fresh vegetables are grown to be given away. The foundation partners with the City of Forney on the For the Love of Veterans Auto and Bike Show for Veterans Day.
