As a community within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Forney provides access to one of the nation’s largest labor pools.  With a workforce base of over 1.3 million people within a 35-minute commute of Forney, your business will thrive in attracting a competent workforce.  High level skills represented among this labor pool includes technology, healthcare, engineering and manufacturing.  Further, much of this workforce would drive in a “reverse-commute” pattern, avoiding traffic and allowing for a peaceful commute to work.  The following interactive table shows workforce skill saturation (location quotient) within a 35 minute commuting distance of Forney.  For more information on workforce availability or to receive a custom workforce report, please contact the Forney EDC office at (972) 564-5808.

Forney EDC has a close working relationship with Workforce Solutions of North Central Texas, an extension of the Texas Workforce Commission.  In addition, FEDC works with three training providers, including Trinity Valley Community College, Eastfield College and Texas State Technical College.  The Texas Workforce Commission provides the Texas Skills Development Fund and Skills for Small Business Fund, which provides free dollars for customized training programs to new and expanding businesses.  More information on these training funds can be found here.
