Forney provides a primary trade area of over 57,000 people fueled with an annual demand of $370 million* for new retail and restaurant options.  By 2023, Forney’s primary trade area is anticipated to be over 86,000 people, providing greater opportunity for new retail development and services.  Current “big box” retailers who call Forney home include Kroger Marketplace, Walmart and Lowe’s.  Depending on the location, traffic counts number as high as 70,000 VPD.  Below is a list of some of Forney’s major retail development opportunities. 

Mustang Crossing 

Forney's well-established retail power center since 2005 is anchored by Walmart and Lowe's.  Chili's, Anytime Fitness, Chick-fil-A, Walgreens, Autozone, Starbucks, and many more retailers live here. Churning out over $150 Million in annual sales, consumers travel from miles around to shop Forney's friendly and pleasant surroundings.

Forney Marketplace - 67 acres 

Anchored by one of only a handful of Kroger Marketplaces in Texas, this prime development is the site for the next influx of major retail. Near the center of Forney at the busy intersection of US Hwy 80 and FM 548, the site has access from 3 entry points and is surrounded by growing residential developments ready to shop.  35 acres is adjacent to Kroger Marketplace, with an additional 32 acres behind the Kroger for additional retail and commercial development.  The adjoining 32 acres will be accessible in the near future through the extension of Trail House Road to US Highway 80.  Click here for Marketplace Brochure.

FM 548 & FM 1641 - 23 acres

FM 741 & FM 548 - 61 acres
