FORNEY, TX - The Forney Economic Development Corporation was recently honored for merit recognition in community economic development by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC).  Forney was one of twenty-five communities across the state recognized by the trade association at their awards ceremony on October 18.  Communities were required to submit a project or event the organization had accomplished within the past year.  Forney submitted their efforts in Downtown, including the Victorian Village development, Downtown Loyalty Card program and Entrepreneur Forum.

Forney EDC Director Warren Ketteman said, “I want to thank the TEDC for their award.  We appreciate the hard work our EDC Board of Directors, City Council and Staff provide on a daily basis for supporting high quality development in Forney.  Forney EDC looks forward to continuing our efforts in attracting new employers and retailers to the community.”

The Texas Economic Development Council provides information, education and legislative services to its members to foster the expansion of existing businesses, the location of new firms and the development of strategies that promote a positive business climate in Texas. With more than 850 members, the TEDC is the largest state economic development association in the nation.
