Forney EDC Announces Business Plan Contest

Today, the Forney Economic Development Corporation and the Trinity Valley Small Business Development Center announce the Jumpstart Forney! 2017 Business Plan Competition.  This competition is open to individuals and teams in Forney to present a new business plan idea before a panel of judges.  Registration opens February 1 and will run through March 1.  The business plan is due to the judges by April 17, 2017, with the competition on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Forney City Hall. 

There will be a regular competition for adults residing in the 75126 area code, as well as a junior competition for Forney ISD high school students.  The Trinity Valley Small Business Development Center will be available to provide free assistance for contestants in developing their business plans.  The winner of the regular competition will receive a $500 cash prize and the winner of the junior competition will receive a $250 cash prize.  There will also be in-kind prizes from area businesses.
