Forney EDC Receives Economic Excellence Recognition from Texas EDC

FORNEY, TX – The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) announced the recipients of its annual Economic Excellence Recognition program for 2018. The awards were presented at a breakfast held Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the TEDC’s Legislative Conference in Austin, Texas. The two and one half-day conference was held February 20-22 at the Sheraton hotel in downtown Austin.

Panera Bread to Open Newest Location in Forney

FORNEY, TX - The City of Forney is excited to announce that fast casual bakery-café, Panera Bread will soon be opening a location in Forney. The Missouri-based company will be located on the property south of Kroger at the intersection of Marketplace Blvd. and the WB U.S. Highway 80 frontage road. 

FEDC to Expand Office and Retail Space with "Victorian Village"

FORNEY, TX – The Forney City Council took an extensive stride in attracting unique office and boutique-style retail tenants during the May 1 City Council meeting. Council members unanimously approved an agreement with the Garrett Moore Company to construct four 3-5,000 square foot buildings, modeled after the Victorian homes along Swiss Avenue in Dallas, on a 5-acre tract at the Chestnut and Main St. intersection near Downtown Forney.

Goodyear Chooses Forney for New Facility

FORNEY, TX During the October 16 City Council meeting, the council was informed that the Goodyear Tire Company, the multinational tire manufacturing company founded in 1898, has selected a site for a new distribution center in the City of Forney. 

Forney EDC Recognized by the Texas Economic Development Council

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) awarded the Forney Economic Development Corporation (EDC) a Certificate of Achievement for Economic Excellence, recognizing the EDC for their efforts throughout the last year.

Forney ISD Board of Trustees Unanimously Approve Freeport-Exempt Status

With the school district passing Freeport-Exempt status, Forney can better compete for industrial development as a “Triple Freeport” community.

FEDC Aims to Expand Healthcare Services in City with Incentive

In an effort to attract and expand healthcare services within the City of Forney, the Forney Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) is offering a new incentive program for new and expanding healthcare operations.
