Mr. Darren Rozell, a resident of Forney since 1969, was the 2006 recipient of the Helping Hands Award here in Forney. He is the owner of a local computer sales and service company since 1997, and is best known for his community involvement and citizenship. Mr. Rozell is currently the Director of the Forney Lions Club and has served as both president and vice-president previously. He is a member of the Forney City Council, and serves as the Vice-President of the Forney Economic Development Corporation. An avid reader, Mr. Rozell also enjoys investing, technology, camping and visiting with family and friends. He and wife, Whitney, have been married since 1993. “I believe that Forney is at a unique cross-roads in it’s development. We are being presented with opportunities and directions that will prove to have a significant impact on what Forney is in the future. My vision for the EDC is that it guides this development in a positive way resulting in a strong economic tax base,” Mr. Rozell says. “In short, the EDC is instrumental in nurturing a vibrant community and relieving the residential tax burden.”
