The Forney EDC, the Historic Business District Focus Group and Unique Karz once again have joined forces to sponsor the Turkey Trax Autorama! The car show was held on the streets of Downtown Forney Sunday November 15, 2009. “The turnout was tremendous, despite the threat of rain,” states President of the EDC, Bill Cates. “The Economic Development Corporation joins forces with the Heritage Towne Center business and property owners to build community awareness as to the economic vitality of the downtown. We are excited about the continued interest from participants this year and the thousands of attendees who enjoyed the event.” Unique Karz once again rallied hundreds of collector vehicles in many classes including 50’s, 60’s and 70’s favorites as well as Muscle Cars, Mustangs, Corvettes, Tricked-out Trucks and a perennial crowd pleaser; Low Riders.

Live Entertainment this year featured the Scott Whitaker Band. Whitaker, a resident singer, songwriter, has opened for numerous high profiled artists such as Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, and Le Ann Rimes. Food and beverages were available from Napoli’s, Las Trojas, Brady’s Burgers, Saragusa’s Sausage, Doe Belly’s and 4T’s BBQ. Admission, parking and smiles were all Free!

The day concluded with over 40 award presentations to entries in all classes, with the highlight being the Mayor’s Trophy (over 6 feet tall!) presented by Unique Karz owner, Gabby Equia. The Turkey Trax Autorama is scheduled for November 2010. Watch for more information.
