Forney is all about education.

Forney has one of the most innovative, celebrated school districts in Texas. The school board has moved aggressively to keep up with student growth and has opened new schools annually. New housing developments have dedicated school sites to make sure facilities are available when needed.

The district recently approved a bond issue that will build a half dozen new elementary schools, improve the district's administration facilities and provide students in 4th through 12th grades with laptop computers for in-depth Internet instruction.

The commitment to education has provided a highly trained available workforce with nearby opportunities for additional training.

	16 to 1 student teacher ratio.
	More than 50 percent of residents have some college, bachelor's or advanced degrees.
	Eastfield Community College and Trinity Valley Community College are an easy 15 minute commute and offer technical as well as academic programs.
	Several area universities provide a variety of degree programs. A branch of the University of North Texas recently opened in Lancaster, 20 minutes from Forney.
