Education

“A Legacy of Student Success since 1899” is more than a motto of the Forney Independent School District. As one of the fastest growing school district in the state of Texas, the Forney ISD is known for its innovative, educational programs and achievements inside and outside the classroom. The school board has moved aggressively to keep up with student growth and has opened new schools annually. New housing developments have dedicated school sites to make sure facilities are available when needed. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of the School Board and the support of the community through bond elections, the Forney ISD is positioned and ready for ongoing growth in Forney. Fall of 2008 ushered in two new elementary schools, bringing the total to nine, as well as a new middle school, for a total of two. Fall of 2009 promises to debut the $70 million North Forney High School – a state–of–the–art facility, providing Forney with two high schools, one on each side of Hwy 80.
